Who I am Session |Topeka Area Photographer
You have a tween now! (collective parental sigh)
Hello, friends. If you’re to the point of parenthood where there’s a tween in your house, you know what that big sigh is about. It’s one of the most amazing times, and also one of the hardest. We get to see our beautiful “babies” emerge into young people who are working on their own things. Their personality begins to flourish and grow into something unique that’s all their own. However, the day-to-day teeters on a surge of desire for independence and maturity that’s still in the works.
Shouldn’t we celebrate this?
I know what you’re thinking. What is there to celebrate right now? We have attitudes, hormones, and daily disagreements over wardrobe choices. My friends…there’s plenty. Let’s look beyond the battles – let’s let your tween see the importance of “Who I Am”. Your tween is going through a beautiful time of development and change. With all change in life (we know this even as adults) there will be struggle and inward battles, that doesn’t mean the process isn’t beautiful. Think of all of the work a butterfly has to go through to gain its wings. It maybe long-suffering at times, but it’s worth it! Let’s celebrate “Who I Am”.
Let’s never forget this important stage.
While tween moments are often swept under the rug as somewhat of an odd middle-ground in life, we need to continue preserving these times. Johnna Brumley Photography has created “Who I Am” sessions to celebrate this coming-of-age for the tweens in our lives. These unique tween sessions revolve around your tween. They are designed to celebrate your tween’s talents; interests; and desires. We take the session one step further by collecting encouraging words from parents, coaches, and other influencers in each tweens life.
It’s time to build-up, not tear down.
With all of the difficult times we go through with our tween, we have to remember that these years are an incredible opportunity to persevere. We can make the most of our tween’s struggles by empowering them; encouraging them to chase their dreams; and – most of all – showing them how beautiful and important they are.
Are you ready, friend?
If you know a tween who could use a confidence-boosting “Who I Am” session session like this, why don’t we chat about it? Let’s discuss all of the beautiful things that make your tween special and design this celebration session to take a timeout; a moment of reflection; a reason to be joyful. Contact me for more information on “Who I Am” sessions, I’d love to tell you more about why these sessions are so dear to my heart.
